Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has made a shocking declaration that he is a mad man undergoing treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta. This revelation came as he appealed to Nigerians and the Ogun State Government after being declared wanted by the state police command.
Portable's troubles began when he allegedly led a gang of nine thugs in a violent attack on three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. The officials, TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi, were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, Ogun State.
According to the police, the officials encountered Portable's father at Odogwu Bar in the area and requested the approved building plan. However, Portable allegedly appeared with a firearm and other weapons, leading the attack on the unarmed officials. The officials sustained various bodily injuries but managed to escape and report the incident to the Ota Area Command.
The police arrested nine accomplices, but Portable fled the scene and went into hiding. In response to the declaration, Portable took to his Instagram, appealing to Nigerians and the state governor, Dapo Abiodun. He alleged that he was set up because he was wearing a vest with the face of Senator Adeola Solomon, popularly known as Yayi.
Portable's appeal was accompanied by a shocking revelation that he is a mad man and has a card at Aro hospital where he usually takes his treatment. He stated, "I fear government. I am a federal government liability. Then I'm a madman; I have medications that I usually take. You can confirm from Aro Hospital. I have a card that certifies me as one of their patients".
Portable further claimed that he is from Abeokuta and has been receiving treatment at the hospital. He denied being a thief and stated that he helps people around him without looking at their background. The singer's revelation has raised questions about his mental health and the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack on the officials.
The Ogun State Police Command has yet to respond to Portable's claims, and it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold.
