A bizarre sight of a rat washing itself like a human
appears to be the latest rodent sensation making the
rounds on the
Internet.
The clip of the “ squeaky clean ” rat has racked up
over 37 million views in two days , bringing back
memories of the rodent sensations of 2015 – the pizza
rat and the selfie rat , which featured a rat climbing
on a sleeping man’ s lap while he was waiting for a
train at the station, according to theepochtimes . com.
The scene was reportedly taken in a bathroom sink in
Huaraz city , Ancash , Peru. The clip shows the rat
standing up on its hind legs, lathering , and scrubbing
itself down with soapy water .
Electronic DJ , Jose Correa , who claims to have filmed
the moment, said he couldn’ t believe his eyes .
“ It went on for about 30 seconds , and then he ran
off . I think he just wanted to give himself a good
clean , ” Correa said .
“ I care a lot about animals so I wanted to protect his
privacy . I would never want to hurt him . So I just
filmed him and let him go, ” he added .
