Disturbing News: Calabar Naval Officer's Private Part Goes Missing

According to a report by Vanguard on September 18th, 2023, there have been incidents of male private part theft in Calabar, Cross River State. These activities have been occurring for three weeks and have now extended to the Nigerian Navy Barracks in Akim. In one particular incident, a naval officer, whose name was not disclosed, was stationed at the entry point of the barracks when a young man named Samuel entered. Samuel was directed to the sentry point for security screening.

During the interaction between Samuel and the sentry officer, the naval officer reportedly felt a sensation similar to an electric shock around his genitals. Upon touching the area, he realized that his private part had disappeared. This led to the naval officer raising an alarm, and Samuel was apprehended and beaten. The naval officer and others present demanded that Samuel return the missing genital immediately.

It is worth noting that the alleged genital thief neither confirmed nor denied responsibility for the disappearance of the private part, nor did he indicate whether he would return it.

Three nabbed in Rivers for alleged involvement in murder and organ harvesting

The Rivers State Police Command has reported the apprehension of three individuals in relation to the alleged murder and extraction of organs from a man named Progress in the Ogbaraye community of Abua/Odual Local Government Area. This occurrence took place shortly after the arrest of three individuals, including two pastors, by a vigilante group called OSPAC in Port Harcourt. The previous arrests were made in connection with the death of a 24-year-old physically challenged man, whom they were accused of killing and harvesting his organs.

According to a source from the community named Otuks, Progress, who was a motorcycle taxi rider from Aminigboko community, was transporting goods from Abua Central to Amingboko when the incident occurred. An unidentified individual suspected to be involved in ritualistic practices had allegedly engaged a group of five young men to acquire human body parts, offering them a substantial sum of money exceeding two million Naira.

Otuks stated that the victim was killed along the Emebu/Obrean boundary, and certain body parts were severed. The incident took place on a Friday night, and following the crime, the perpetrators fled the scene. However, three of the suspects were later apprehended.

Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspects, stating that they had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.

Calabar residents worried about missing genitals, turn to bitter kola and alligator pepper

Residents of Calabar, the capital of Cross River State, are currently experiencing a sense of fear and unease due to a rising number of reports about the disappearance of male private organs, as stated in a report by Vanguard News on September 16th, 2023.

Over the past two weeks, what initially began as rumors from distant areas has gradually spread throughout the city, with almost everyone claiming to know someone whose private organ has vanished after a simple encounter such as a handshake or physical contact with strangers.

This situation has raised several questions in the minds of the people. They are curious about who could be responsible for these disappearances, what motives they might have, and what fate awaits those who have lost their private organs. The authenticity of these claims is also being scrutinized, with some wondering if they are genuine or if they are merely attempts to incite chaos in the city.

The Cross River State Government, through its Commissioner for Information, Erasmus Ekpang, has issued a statement denying the veracity of these claims. This official position has been supported by the Cross River State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Ms. Irene Ugbo, who labeled the claims as the work of troublemakers. She has urged the public to continue their daily routines without fear.

However, the residents of Calabar remain skeptical of the assurances from the police and government. Reports of missing private organs continue to emerge from different parts of the town, leading to disturbances and unrest.

It is alleged that there have been over fifteen cases of organ disappearance reported throughout the city, with some victims having their organs returned by the perpetrators, while others have not been so fortunate.

According to a spare parts dealer named Chibuike, there are rumors that these organs are being sold on the black market for exorbitant prices. He claims that the organs are used for ritual purposes to generate money, and anyone whose genitalia is stolen will die within a few days. Chibuike warns that unless the authorities take decisive action to address this alarming situation, more people will fall victim to these crimes.

In response to the prevailing fear and uncertainty, men in the city have resorted to carrying bitter kola and alligator pepper in their pockets or holding their private organs tightly while walking in public or using public transportation. The increased demand for bitter kola has led to a rise in its price.

Reports of organ disappearances have emerged from various areas in the city, including Atimbo, Nyahasang, Moore Road, Satellite Town, Ekpo Abasi, 8 Miles, Watt Market, Atakpa/Mayne Avenue, and other locations.

Residents have shared their accounts of these incidents. For example, one resident named Blessing Ngi mentioned an occurrence in her area where a person lost their penis, but it was only restored after a confrontation with the perpetrator.

A particularly dramatic incident took place on the outskirts of the city along the Goodluck Jonathan bypass. An angry mob had gathered to attack two young men after a person claimed that their penis and testicles had disappeared following a handshake with the duo. The prompt arrival of the police prevented the lynching.

Some residents have taken to carrying bitter kola and alligator pepper as protective measures against potential attacks on their genitals. However, it is worth noting that some residents claim this protection to be ineffective.

A resident shared their experience with Saturday Vanguard, stating that their friend, whose organ had disappeared, had filled their pocket with bitter kola and alligator pepper.

Among the four sons who embarked on a hazardous migration route, only one was able to make it back home safely.

According to a BBC article published on September 3rd, 2023, titled "Four sons set out on a perilous migration route. Only one came home," the account tells the story of Adama and Moussa Sarr, two brothers from Senegal, and their cousins, Pape and Amsoutou. They embarked on a hazardous journey to Europe aboard a traditional Senegalese fishing canoe called a pirogue, accompanied by 101 other passengers. Departing from the coastal village of Fass Boye on July 10th, their destination was the Canary Islands, located around 1,000 miles away in the North Atlantic.

The route from Senegal to the Canary Islands is widely known as one of the most dangerous migration routes in the world. After six days at sea with no sight of land, a dispute arose among the passengers about whether to continue or turn back. Despite the disagreement, the captain opted to push forward, leading to a scarcity of food and water.

After enduring five weeks at sea, a fishing vessel discovered the adrift pirogue off the coast of West Africa. Adama, weakened to the point where he could only stare, witnessed Moussa slipping into the water. Fortunately, the fishing crew spotted Moussa and saved him from drowning. When they approached the pirogue, they found Adama, the other survivors, and the bodies of seven individuals.

Adama was the only one among the four sons who managed to safely return home to Senegal. Although visibly thinner, he was reunited with his family in Fass Boye. This story serves as a poignant reminder of the dangers and difficulties faced by migrants attempting to reach Europe through this treacherous route.

Cheruiyot said that they were to blame for the incident: “ His
relatives presumed he was dead and did not even wait for
certification of death , ” he said .

“They moved him to the mortuary , on their own .”
He added : “ They asked Kigen ’ s relatives to give them some time
but they accused the clinicians of taking too much time and
decided to take him to the mortuary. "
“It was while the mortician was getting ready to embalm his body
that she noticed some signs of life. ”
Dr Cheruiyot said it took three hours to completely resuscitate the
patient , and that Mr Kigen was expected to be discharged in “a
few days.”

He concluded : “ I advise those bringing their loved ones to the
hospital to follow the laid down regulations .”
“Before a body is moved the mortuary, it has to be certified by a
