Neem leaves popularly known as “Dogoyaro” leaves in Nigeria also
known as ‘Wonder leaves’, is a herb known to have numerous health
benefits and has been used for beauty regimes for thousands of
years now.
Neem leaves are well known not only for its medicinal properties
but also for taking care of the environment.
Neem contains an essential ingredient in many Ayurveda medicines.
It contains nimbin, nimbinen, nimbolide, nimandial, ninbinene and
other beneficial compounds that have anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and
anti-inflammatory agents. Gedunin and nimbidol found in the leaves
of neem are powerful antifungal agents that destroy fungi which
cause athlete foot, ringworm and nail fungus.
Amongst other things, Neem leaf is used for treating the following
sicknesses or illnesses

Neem for Skin Diseases

Take 250 gms Mustard oil in an iron pan and boil. Add 50 gms soft
Neem leaves in the boilng oil. Let the leaves turn black. Cool the oil,
strain and apply on the affected area thrice a day. It is good for all
types of Skin diseases.
Neem for Sore Throat

Take some Neem leaves . Crush it with water. Remove the pulp.
Warm it. Add Honey. Gargle with it three four times a day.
Neem for Acne

Neem contains Antiseptic, Anti-inflammatory and Astringent
properties. Neem reduces the puffiness and inflammation of Acne.
Neem purifies the blood, thus give radiance to the skin.
Take 4 to 5 fresh leaves of Azadirachta Indica ( Neem ) everyday in
the morning.
OR :
Grind leaves of Neem . Apply it over the affected area. Let it dry and
wash with normal water.

Neem for Eczema

Neem has Anti-inflammatory and Antibacterial properties that
soothe the skin. These all make Neem a potent herb to treat Skin
Ailments like; Eczema.
Take a handful of fresh Neem leaves. Crush and boil them in 50 ml
of any Carrier oil ( like; Mustard Oil or Coconut Oil ) for 10 minutes.
Strain and store in a bottle. Apply it daily on the affected part twice
a day. You can also use it for soaking, bathing and washing the
affected part.
Neem for Baldness

Prepare a decoction of Neem leaves. Use it while washing your
hairs.
Neem for Chicken Pox

Add some Neem leaves in your bathing water. Take bath with it.
Neem for Cold Sores
Prepare paste of Neem leaves. Apply it on the Cold Sores.
Neem for Diabetes

Chew 4 Neem Leaves in the morning.

Neem for Itching

Neem is a good remedy to treat Itching. It also prevents further
infection from Itching.
Boil fresh Neem leaves in water. Let it cool. Strain and store. Use
this water for taking bath.

Neem for Measles

Crush 20 leaves of Azadirachta Indica ( Neem ). Dip them in your
bath tub. Sit in it for 20 minutes.

Neem Oil as Mosquito Repellent

Neem Oil on the body to keep away mosquitos. It reduces the risk
of diseases caused by mosquito bite.

Neem as Malaria Prevention

Chew 4 Neem leaves once a day. This remedy prevents the risk of
Malaria. It is also believed that if you have Neem tree in your house
or surrounding, then that area is mosquito free.

Neem for Fistula

Chew 3-4 Neem leaves daily.

Neem for Leprosy

Mix 2 teaspoons of dried Neem leaf powder with a pinch of Black
Pepper. Consume this mixture with one glass of water.

Neem for Menstrual Cramps

Take 5 to 10 Neem leaves. Crush them and make a paste. Have 1
teaspoon of that paste with a glass of Buttermilk or Warm glass of
Milk. It also helps to flush impurities from the blood.
You may make small pills of leave paste to consume it in a easy
way.

Skin Toning

Neem leaves for skin can also be used as a toner. Just dip a cotton
ball in boiled neem water and wipe your face with it overnight. This
will clear acne, scars, pigmentation and blackheads.
Used for Oily Skin
If you are tired of your oily skin and skin problems that follow, it is
advisable to use neem for your face. Make a paste of fresh neem
leaves, add 2 pinches of turmeric to it and mix well until it reaches
a medium consistency. Apply it directly on the face and wash it with
cold water after 15 minutes.

To cure nail ailments

Neem is also known to treat nail ailments. Neem oil when applied
on the affected area multiple times a day, it helps cure skin
